Between neighbors' noise complaints, pet-unfriendly landlords, and the daunting task of corralling any animal to behave in an elevator (or worse, in a cramped stairwell), life for pet owners in New York apartments can be, well, a little ruff. (Sorry.) But that doesn't stop a whole lot of us from sharing our small spaces with furry companions. As such, we're spending this week examining all aspects of living with a pet in NYC, from the best neighborhoods for dog owners, to decorating and de-odorizing tricks to talking your landlord (or board) into letting you take on a pet in the first place.

And since the Internet was invented primarily for appreciating pictures of cute pets—mooning over real estate comes second—we're on the lookout for adorable photos of city-dwelling pets we can feature on Brick this week. Send them to us at: thebrickteam@brickunderground.com, or post them on our Facebook page.
